Pasu! I’ve just read that Ryukishi07 announced, that he’ll plan to release a new title in the Naku Koro Ni series which will be different from Higurashi and Umineko. Oh boy, I’m kinda excited. But it also let me realise that I have to finish the Umineko visual novel!
Pasu! Today, I want to talk a bit about some strong healing magic. Let’s call it New Game! All joking aside, New Game! was a very lovely and funny show about cute girls doing cute things and game development!
I’m still waiting for the second season (there must be one, right?) and I’m also thinking about the lack of strong healing shows in the fall season of 2016. Sure, we had Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari and Stella no Mahou.. but none of them are close to New Game.
Stella no Mahou was cute, but it didn’t hit me like NG! Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari was cute too, but it was more like Amaama to Inazuma.. there were too many feels to hit me as a straight up comedy / slice of life show. And don’t get me started on this season’s awesomeness called 3-gatsu no lion.
I really hope that we’ll get more New Game / Amanchu / Flying Witch shows in the next few seasons! My fluffy soul needs some healing!
P.S. Yagami-chan is so cute! *hug*
Pasu! Today I want to talk a bit about Nanbaka. The show started as a hilarious comedy prison show, but at some point, sadly, it threw some plot in that made the whole thing pointlessly serious for me.
I know that there is some drama going on.. but it kinda feels out of place, weak and pointless to me. I’m not sure if I will continue with the second part of Nanbaka. At least the first 3/4 of the first season was hilarious.
It’s a colourfull show with some nice jokes and quirky characters. Hajime-chan is awesome!
Pasu! Let’s talk a bit about Myself;Yourself. This anime is for some reason one of my favorites. It’s one of those stories that are not the best, but you can’t help it but to love it. And this is one of those for me. Maybe.. just maybe.. it’s because I can relate to the protagonist?
We all know, that the fluffy lovey dovey high school life is most likely a lie.. or at least some kind of nice dream while the reality is dark, right? And this is a nice story about a guy (the protagonist) who comes back to his hometown after many years (a classic start, right?) and meets old friends and finds new ones.
Why did he come back? To find something that he missed? To heal his wounds? To find support? Maybe all of it and much more. He was bullied in school and it was so hard, that he tried to commit suicide. It’s nice, how this story tells more of the „what happens after that“ compared to the what’s going on right now type of story telling.
And on a side note, the romance / drama works very well for me. Feels much better than something like Clannad.. but it could also be, that I just don’t like most of the characters of Clannad.. *laughs*
Anyways, I really like this one and I’ve watched it a couple of times now. And yes, I can relate to the protagonist.
Pasu! I was watching a lot of anime today (around 18ish episodes or so) and I managed to finish Keijo and Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku and I also managed to get up to date with Nanbaka and Hibike! Euphonium – which is also todays topic.
I really enjoyed the first season of Hibike!, but the second season felt more like a long ride with no end. This time, almost all of the drama that was used felt so weak. Reina’s drama with her love for the teacher is.. well, it’s love, so I’m not really going to judge it. But what was going on with Asuka and her mother or with Kumiko and her sister and also with the parents? And don’t get me even started on the whole stuff about Mizore… really..
The drama with Mizore would be over in literally 3 minutes if the 2 would just talk and clear the misunderstanding. The ending of that drama was… I could only facepalm. The drama was defeated because the 2 talked.. *facewall*
Asuka’s mother has problems with the concert band because of HER own experience.. for example: Asuka’s father.. but is it a reason to be such a mother who’s hitting her daughter? I don’t think so. Advice: Talk it out
There’s also the drama with Kumiko’s sister and their parents.. which may look like some serious stuff, but it would be easy to solve IF the people would talk with each other and say what they have in mind. Same goes for the whole Kumiko drama with her sister..
Reina’s love for their teacher is.. well.. you can’t really solve it with talking.. so we’ll skip this one. I’m still hoping for the Kumiko x Reina ending.
Pasu! I’m back at my home and I put the pictures on my PC, so that I can write this post! We didn’t have a christmas tree this year, but I really like this pyramid! And it works too!
Let’s jump into yesterdays light dinner at once!
The light dinner with bread and some smoked salmon and also some prawns (they weren’t ready yet).
My appetiser, some nice snails with a buttery sauce!
Todays food was not so light. It was goose, 2 types of dumplings and red cabbage! Very delicious. And I was the boss of the sauce. (I helped out my mother)
Anyways, it was a great time and the food was, as always, delicious!
Pasu, it’s me – the Captain!
Christmas is around the corner (it is literally tomorrow, because I’m writing this post on the 23rd) and I thought that I’d write a post about the next posts. Switching from anime / light novel / manga / visual novel related posts to food with reallife pictures! Sounds great, doesn’t it?
All joking aside, I’m really going to cover the food we’ll have on the 24th and 25th! Be prepared! I don’t know if I’ll be able to write a post tomorrow, because I’m visiting my parents and I’ll stay overnight. But maybe, just maybe, I’ll kidnap the laptop to do it!
Food aside, it’s time to get into some light novels. The „new“ name in the english light novel market J-Novel Club announced that they’ve licensed 2 new light novels!
The titles are „How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom“ and „Paying to Win in a VRMMO“. I’m really interested in both titles because the Pay2Win sounds so hilarious and the other one is quite fun to read because parts of the webnovel were translated. I’m totally going to buy them!
Pasu! Let’s talk a bit about something. I don’t have an idea about what I should write.. so I’m just writing about what comes to mind. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Let’s talk about Mahou Shoujos! Cute girls doing cute things are always lovely!
I’m going to finish Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku soon and for some reason I got into the mood to talk about Mahou Shoujos. Sounds cool, right? I’ve watched some of the „older“ Mahou Shoujo anime that were released back in the 90’s and early 2000. I can still remember my reaction when I was watching Sailor Moon in the mid 90’s. Hell, I was totally like „woah.. nice cartoon girl! what is going on?!“ and today I’m like „WHOOOOOOOOOO! MAHOU SHOUJO HO!“. So.. you can kinda say that nothing really changed for me.
Another show that I’ve enjoyed was Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. Maron was seriously cute. And when I think about how many years have passed.. I feel old and nostalgic. But hell, there are still great anime that I enjoy. No need to feel like this! But yeah, I’ve come a long way from the beginning of watching anime (and realising that it is anime) to the present day.
By the way, Yen Press licensed the Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku light novels! I’m totally going to buy them! *cheers*
It’s this time of the year / season again. I have to catch up with quite a lot of shows from this season. Sadly, there are 2 reasons why I’m not up to date with some shows.
First of all, I’m falling behind with some shows because I’m not enjoying them that much anymore like I did in the beginning. A good example would be Shuumatsu no Izetta or Bungou Stray Dogs. It’s not that the show is bad enough for me to drop them, but I’m not really bothering to keep up with the weekly release.
The second reason is much more on the simple side. Time. Time sure flies by if you’re reading light novels and manga, playing games, enjoying visual novels. Ok, about the visual novel, Himawari is the first visual novel that I’ve picked up in ages. But in the end, the time is gone and I’m trying to keep up with them, but I’m a couple of episodes behind.
Luckily, I’m keeping up with some shows I really enjoy or with those I can watch while just enjoying it. Most of them are slice of life shows.
For the titles that I’m going to watch next.. it will be probably Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, Bungou Stray Dogs, Brave Witches and Nanbaka.
I’ve finished the last episode of Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume yesterday and I thought that I should write a few lines about this show. It’s a sport (ping pong) show with lots of quirky girls and a ridiculous amout of sweat (seriously).
The story follows Koyori who’s a transfer student and quite clumsy. But once she holds her racket in the hand, she’s turning into a beast. She loves to play table tennis and loves to play against good players that make her heart beat faster. Agari was at first the attention girl who just wanted to win to get the attention. Hanabi is your typical full power energetic girl. Hokuto is more on the quiet side but she’s giving all the girls strange nicknames – well, the nicknames are refered to the panties. Munemune aka thong-senpai is the big breasted lovely older sister type of character while Kiruka aka the boss of the har- I mean club is laid back but also pretty damn good at the sport. And she loves cute girls in cosplays.
Ok, the somewhat bad character introduction aside, the show itself is fun to watch. Quirky characters, funny ping pong matches, cute girls, a huge amount of sweat, cute girls, ping pong etc. The character design isn’t the best but hey, it’s still better than some other stuff we have seen in the past. It’s for sure, that this show is not for everyone, but if you just want to enjoy a bit of a entertaining show then go for it!
Kiruka x Munemune x harem! lol
